Phone line swapped

Flower in Water
I came back home after a long holiday in the Himalayas only to find my BSNL phone line dead. Now with out the phone line, broadband will not work!!!!!

I tried connecting with dial up connection on my other phone line (TATA Indicom),<>/i but as we all know Dial up sucks. Took almost 10 min to upload one single photo....

Finally decided to raise a complaint in BSNL for the dead phone line of mine. The next day I woke up and again checked if my phone is working and walla its working. I was so glad to back surfing using the broadband.

But sooner I kept getting calls on my BSNL phone line for a lady called "Mary". All the calls was for the same lady, I got tired of telling people that no one called Mary lives here.

Then some doubt crept in my mind. I cross checked the number of phone line (basically I called my mobile number from my land line so that it shows up the number) Guess what it was a different number.

I tried calling my land line number using my mobile. I can hear some phone ringing over the mobile but its not the one in my room.

Ha, so much for the BSNL repair system. They have swapped my line with some one else's....

Now I need to again run pillar to post to get this rectified. God sometimes I hate BSNL.

ya i tried calling the customer care, but its the worst customer care i have ever spoken too....

First thing no one knows how to speak in English.
Second they don't even understand my problem.

I am going to have a hard time dealing with this.....

Well they do know to speak in English but only thing is that half of it would be a mixture of the local language.

So the second time i called i choose the option to speak in Kannada itself than in English....

None of my friends believe this but when B'lore was making the transition from 6 digits to 8 digits, which is when we got our phone for a few days the 6 digit number was that of Nandan Nilekani. I didnt know who he was then!!? We'd get phone calls from Mumbai newspapers. Sometimes I'd say Mr. Nilekani isn't available on this number and they'd say "Can you take a message and forward it to him" !!!

The point of my comment was, more than a decade later, BSNL is still making the same mistakes.

LOL! Reminds me of a scene from one of Mahesh Babu's movie (Telugu), not remembering what movie it was...he and his friend keep calling this passport office guy and leaving messages for another guy.

I hope u were not asked to take messages for Mary! :) Sorry, cant help laughing!

On the other side i hope Mary does not have to give money to any one.

I don't want people calling me and threatening me for money that Mary owes them
